The book

For fifty-three years two couples proved the marketplace and the church were never meant to build apart. Eddie and Tammy Windsor were called as priests. Mark and Linda Carpenter were called as kings. They did not trade places.

This is the true story of what they built, and the blueprint for every business leader and every pastor made to build alongside the other.

Inside the book

The Priests — Eddie and Tammy Windsor

Eddie and Tammy Windsor have given forty-five years to ministry, and they have built the house of God from more sides than most people ever get to see. Their ministry began on January 18, 1981, only weeks after they were married, with seven junior high girls and no grand plan. It grew into the largest youth ministry in the area.

From 1997 to 2004, Eddie and Tammy and their two children were called to live in England, carrying the gospel into hundreds of churches there and later across Europe. They became known as pastors to pastors, founded Global Missions Outreach, and it was there that Eddie discovered the message of his life: the Law of Capacity and the Law of Hard.

In 2004 they moved back to California and planted Champion Life Church alongside two other families. Today they serve as co-lead pastors of a healthy, growing church with a large campus and worship center, and a company of kings has found a home there.

They have never been only pastors. Across their lives they have built four businesses from the ground up, and Eddie has served as a board member and consultant to more than forty boards over forty-five years. Their road has not been easy: Tammy has overcome stage-four cancer twice, and they walked a long valley of infertility before God gave them two children and, now, five grandchildren. Married since December 12, 1980, they have never once tried to build alone.

The Kings — Mark and Linda Carpenter

Mark and Linda Carpenter have spent more than five decades proving that faith and business were never meant to exist in separate worlds. Married as teenagers, Linda at seventeen and Mark at nineteen, they began in a small cabin in the woods with no running water, an outhouse, and a marriage that was barely surviving. In 1975 they gave their lives to Jesus Christ, and that decision changed both their marriage and their direction.

When a severe recession left Mark without work as a plumber, necessity pushed them to start a small construction company in the family garage. What began with remodeling a single cabin grew into a development company that has built homes, commercial projects, and thousands of apartment homes.

They have always treated business as ministry. They have personally funded churches, orphanages, schools, and mission projects around the world, including more than a hundred homes for Cuban pastors, and have given more than ten million dollars to churches and missions. In 2008 they donated ten acres of land to Champion Life Church, making its worship center possible.

Today they serve as Senior Associate Pastors and Business Pastors, encouraging marketplace leaders to see their work as a divine calling. Their deepest desire is that every reader would discover that true success is not found in what we build for ourselves, but in what we build with God for eternity.

Fifty-three years later, the two couples are still building side by side. This book is the record of it.

What leaders are saying

“I have spent my life as a king in the public square, and this book finally put words to my experience. Increasing Your Marketplace Capacity: Kings & Priests names the partnership between church and civic leaders that Alexis and I have lived for decades. Read it slowly. It put words to the king in me.”

Curt and Alexis Pringle

Former Mayor of Anaheim, California

61st Speaker of the California State Assembly

“Increasing Your Marketplace Capacity: Kings & Priests was not written from a pulpit. It was forged in real life, and names what so many of us have felt but never had words for. The marketplace leader is not simply a checkbook. The healthiest churches finally learn to build with two hands, a king and a priest, side by side.”

Dr. Jim and Marguerite Reeve

Author's Church, Glendora

“What they built was never about what one of them could do for the other. It was built on love, friendship, and trust, and from that ordinary soil grew something far larger than any of them could have raised on their own. So do not read this book alone. Read it with someone.”

Thirty years alongside both families

“I have watched my father, Mark Carpenter, live every page of this book for decades. Long before I understood the blueprint, I saw him do business as ministry, model outrageous generosity, and live out his convictions about the purpose of prosperity. This book is an unlock for every pastor and marketplace leader.”

“To the world he is Pastor Eddie Windsor. To me, he is my dad. I have watched him live these principles firsthand. Mark Carpenter, the king beside my dad, helped unlock the entrepreneur in me, but watching Eddie and Mark live as king and priest showed me God's calling on my life: my business is my ministry.”
